Welcome to Writing to the Child!

1. Who is Writing to the Child™ for?


Writing to the Child™ is for anyone who writes about children in a professional capacity, including teachers, social workers, SEN teams, NHS practitioners, Early Help, youth justice, therapists and safeguarding leads.

If your role involves communicating with or about children, this training will support your practice.


2. Do you deliver training online or in person?


Both.

We offer live online training (Teams/Zoom), in-person workshops, and hybrid formats depending on your organisation’s needs and location.

3. Can the training be tailored to our service?

Yes.All workshops can be adapted for education, social care, health, SEND settings or multi-agency teams.We’ll work with you to reflect the real challenges your team faces.

4. How long is the training?

 Most sessions run for:

  • 90 minutes
  • Half day
  • Full day
    However, bespoke packages are available for whole-service or multi-session training.

5. What frameworks do you teach?

We teach three original, practical frameworks:

  • STREAM™ – a structure for child-centred writing
     
  • ARC Sentence – a method for clear, emotionally safe communication
     
  • CARES™ – a child-centred health communication tool for NHS and CAMHS

These frameworks are easy to learn and can be applied immediately.

6. Can our organisation book consultancy instead of training?

Yes.
We offer consultancy to help you review assessments, improve templates, update communication guidance, or embed child-centred practice across your service.

7. Do you work with individual practitioners?

Yes — individuals can attend open sessions when available, or request 1:1 coaching or supervision-style support around writing and communication.

8. How much do workshops cost?

Pricing varies depending on:

  • session length
  • number of attendees
  • online or in-person delivery
  • bespoke content requirement

9. Do you offer discounts for multiple sessions or whole-school/service bookings?

Yes.
Multi-session packages and whole-team bookings receive discounted rates. 

10. Can we order bulk copies of the book?

Yes.
